Skin rash is an area of your skin that is irritated, swollen or bumpy. Sometime it appears with itching, redness and pain. It can be a result from bacterial or viral infection. Here is possible causes of rash related to virus and immune system:
1. Eczema/Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that causes rash itching and irritating. It may occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is commonly caused by allergies, asthma, hay fever but it also can strike people who had no history of all these conditions. It is because skin or immune system cannot protect itself as well as it should, and then your body gets itchy, cracked dry skin-a chain reaction that leads to rash and inflammation.
2. Psoriasis
Psoriasis causes repeated skin problem that comes and goes. It appears as scaling spots at the very beginning and develops into cracked skin with peeling and burning. Itchy red rash raises. Sometimes nail thickened and pitted. It can occur anywhere on your body-scalp, nail, back, chest, joints, limbs. Psoriasis starts due to a trigger that you may easily ignore or inevitably avoid. Factors that may trigger psoriasis include skin infections, injury (such as a bug bite), stress/anxiety, etc.
3. Shingles
Shingles is a kind of viral infection caused by varicella zoster virus. It most often appears as a blister on one side of your body, sensitive to touch, painful or tingling at first. Red rash shows up and spreads several days after the burning sensation. Shingles vaccination is the only way to protect against the virus though it may reactivate after a few years. Make sure the rash clears before getting vaccinated.
4.Measles
Measles most commonly happen to small children and it can become fatal once quite serious. Nowadays deaths from measles have been falling as more children receive the vaccines that can strongly help reduce the risk of shingles. People who catch the measles symptoms can suffer from pain and rash often on one side of the body. It can be severe painful at first then a red rash begins. Blisters (fluid-filled bumps) may raise and break open. It is the time to see a doctor before skin problems widespread.
5.HIV
HIV, called the human immunodeficiency virus, can cause widespread body rash. Early warnings of acute HIV infection may appear as raised and/or flat tiny red dots due to blood infection from the virus. It directly attacks your immune system, killing the cells responsible for defense against infectious organisms and fighting against infections and cancers.
